Fleet managers
Make effective use of technology
In future, data on driving, work and rest times will no longer be recorded on paper charts – instead it will be stored by drivers on personal smart cards and by digital tachographs using the system’s integral mass memory. As a result, there are a number of changes facing fleet managers. For example, you must:
_ Regularly archive and analyse mass memory data.
_ Take responsibility for ensuring that your drivers hold valid driver cards if they are driving vehicles fitted with digital tachographs.
_ Ensure drivers generate printouts at the start and end of their journey if their driver card has been damaged, malfuctions or is lost or stolen.
_ Comply with the new requirements for archiving data from driver cards and the digital tachograph’s mass memory.
_ Regularly evaluate and monitor driving, work and rest times from driver cards and the digital tachograph’s mass memory in order to take appropriate action in the event of any infringements.
In addition, you should apply for a company card, from the DVLA which allows you to download, display and print data and will also protect your company-specific data from unauthorised access.
Alongside the DTCO 1381 digital tachograph, we offer a range of additional solutions to streamline fleet management and comply with these new legal requirements.
TIS-Office and TIS-Web are two powerful solutions for all analogue and digital tachographs, with support being provided in both cases by our service partners.
